Green Stone Garden use guitar, double bass, harmonies and the occasional boxy type object for percussion to negotiate their way around their very own brand of folksy music. Somewhere between pouring the tea and your first sip, in an unspoken moment of staring at the pot plant, lies Green Stone Garden. Mike Meston (Meston Band and Impregnito) and Jesse Mac (ex The Stilson’s) have coalesced to make a narrative musical beverage. Green Stone Garden distills ideas of serendipity, resignation, fear and subversion into an milky brew of voices, steel and timber. Green Stone Garden do not purvey landscaping materials of any type.
“Leah Flanagan writes beautiful songs and sings them in a voice you can sink into, cushiony comfort without a single rough edge – it makes you feel like you’ve come home.”
DEBORAH CONWAY
“Such a gift is rare.”
MARTIN JONES (Rhythms Sept 2010)
“Equal parts Lucinda Williams and Shirley Bassey, Flanagan is a rich talent…”
JEFF APTER (Sydney Morning Herald Sept 2010)
